Cross Object Filtering in Scorecard

You now have Cross Object Filtering functionality in Scorecard. This means that Scorecard Administrators can create metric filters on related records to a source object. This will allow for the creation of more customizable metrics. This functionality matches the Cross Object Filtering functionality that is already present in Contest Engine.

To get started, you will begin by building a Metric in Scorecard Builder.

For this example, let's say we would like to use records related in the Opportunity Object and Account Object. Perhaps you want your team to increase pipeline within the technology industry. We will choose an Opportunity record.

The Cross Object Filter will make sure the Opportunities we are tracking have Accounts within the Technology industry.

And it's as easy as that! Now you are all set to filter using multiple Objects!

Note: There are two relationship fields on an Activity record that cannot be used in cross-object filters, WhoId and WhatId. This is because they are Polymorphic relationship fields and their relationships cannot be queried. Support for this type of query is currently only in Developer Preview with Salesforce. More information can be found here.
